62 Main closed its doors in Colleyville on July 12, 2008. 62 Main was a wonderful little restaurant tucked into Colleyville Village that was a critic favorite since it opened. It’s unfortunate that all the critic praise could not have turned it into more of a destination dining location. Colleyville being my ‘hood, I take this really hard.
I enjoyed Chef David McMillan’s dishes that focused on great flavors that weren’t overly complicated. His restaurant had a quiet, casual, and serene sophistication. It was a privilege having someone of his talents choose Colleyville rather than Dallas to open his restaurant. Dallas would have easily welcomed him after leaving his position as a five star chef of Nana.
I’m equally bummed because that means that Bar on 2 is closing, the sister business to the restaurant. I’ve enjoyed many evenings there and will miss hanging out at the cozy bar.

Since Chef McMillan opened his restaurant not only did he provide some serious culinary cache to Colleyville but he also extended his talents to various charities that benefited the Colleyville community. Hopefully, he continues to call Colleyville home and I look forward to his next venture.
