I’m sure all of Fort Worth has breathed a collective sigh of relief now that our precious Kincaid’s has been saved from a potential eviction. Kincaid’s issued the following statement:
July 28, 2008 11:13am
Kincaid’s is happy to announce that we are staying open at our original location at 4901 Camp Bowie. As many of you know, we have had a lease dispute with our new landlord. We are pleased that the issue has been resolved to the mutual benefit of both parties. We cannot express enough appreciation to our incredible customers and friends. Our motto is “Where friends meet to eat” and it has never been more true. We believe it has been your overwhelming concern and support that has allowed us to stay. We cannot thank you enough.
Your friends,
Kincaid’s Hamburgers and the Gentry Family
Bud Kennedy expounded on the details of the dispute in an article in Sunday’s Star T: http://www.star-telegram.com/metro_news/story/785886.html.
Even though Kincaid’s has managed to replicate it’s burgers and atmosphere in other locations, none can replace the original. I’ll bet there will be quite a throwdown of customer appreciation during their anniversary on September 16th.
P.S. I just have to share my favorite Kincaid’s memory. While I was pregnant with my first son I would frequent Kincaid’s on my lunch breaks and my sister’s boyfriend (at the time) worked there and he wouldn’t let me pay. Needless, to say I had my share of Kincaid’s burgers since I was eating for two and for free (sorry to the managers but this was about 7 years ago).
