Delaney Vineyards
August 16, 7AM to noon. The 13th Annual Harvest and Grape Stomp at Delaney Vineyards in Grapevine. The harvest starts at 7AM and continues through 10AM and you get a grapevine cutter, a bucket, and a lesson on how to hand harvest a grapevine. Walking up and down rows up grapevine will help fuel your fantasies of retiring to your own vineyard one day, well OK it will fuel my fantasies. You will also get a look at how it’s really done as you get to observe the mechanical harvester and grape crusher/de-stemmer in action.
Then at 10AM, this is where it get’s really good, you get to stomp on the grapes “Lucy style”. This is a great one for the kids! The stomp continues until noon or until this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMS0O3kknvk
