The Patio is marvelous! The Wine was great! Service is so-s0.....the Caprese Salad was good! Could have been great if ratio of fresh Basil was equal to the fine Mozzrella cheese , ok tomatoes, and good balsamic vinegar. (amount was just right)
Quesadilla (chicken) starter was dry and taste /bland and portion size was extra small (would not re-order) Check with Taco Bueno for their recipe! The fries were ok....smelled much better than tasted and expected crispness that was not there. (would not re-order)
Pizza - Pepparoni - ok-sparsly located --- crust looked good, crisp around edges not in the center....crust had a texture of a touch of cornmeal or something that felt gritty ( wold not order) Bacon Wrapped Scalliops were good and tasty, sm portion for the price.... were dry. Scallipos flavor ok. Braised Buffalo short ribs ok, what a low class idea of mac & cheese on this plate! and that was not at all good mac & cheese...Kraft Box Better...stingy with the asparagas also! & BBQ sauce? (would not re-order) ribs were tender!
Creme Brulee only ordinary!! So all in all the food was not re-orderable and the thought in our mind was not "OH! We must go back next week to eat their good food." Too pricy for the quality of food and amount! What happened to the Short Ribs with potatoes and vegetables---Menu change is a challenge!!! Coffee good! Looking forward to a Menu change and better tasting, increased portion food that I can tell a friend to go eat @ Winslow's.....

Winslow's is a fantastic place with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Sure, you pay a little more for this kind of atmosphere, but we in Fort Worth need to be okay with this...it means having more options for off beat, one of a kind places. We have too many chains and holes-in-the-wall. The holes-in-the-wall are great, but isn't it nice to have options?! Taverna is excellent, but if you don't want to trek downtown, Winslow's is a great spot to take a date, friends, or visitors from out of town.

I haven't made it to Taverna's yet, but it's on my list. I will have to bump it up higher on the list if they have good gnocchi (with fried sage!). You and your wife should give Winslow's a try.

My wife and I have been considering Winslow's, but have yet to try it out. Nice review.

I'm a little confused by the gnocchi though: it looks more like Velveeta Shells & Cheese.... Have you tried Taverna's? Probably my top Italian dish in FW - and it's complete with fied sage.

"The medium bodied wine was like Richard Simmons reading Nietzsche - deep but fruity." - great line by the way.
