Friday March 6
First Fridays at The Modern 5-8PM
3200 Darnell Street Fort Worth
Check out Jeff Elrod’s unique digital images as you enjoy The Modern’s extended hours during First Fridays.  This months featured cocktail, Cool and Breezy and music by Nick Kithas and Friends. Reserve dinner at Cafe Modern at 817-840-2157.

Friday March 6
First Friday on the Green 6PM – 9PM
Bring the whole family to enjoy live music by White Ghost Shivers.  The event is put on by Fort Worth South and is free, but a canned good donation to The Tarrant Area Food Bank is encouraged.  Chadra Mezza will be providing some yummy eats.  Magnolia Green Park is located on Lipscomb between Magnolia and Rosedale.

Friday March 6
Lola’s on Sixth, 10PM, $6 Cover
Goodwin, The Early Republic, Eaton Lake Tonics, and Slider Pines.  This is a jam packed show for $6 bucks. Have a burger at Fred’s before the Show.

Saturday March 7
Gallery 414 Artist Reception 6PM – 9PM, Free
Gallery 414 features the work of Chris Powell, Fred Spaulding, and Nicholas Wood in a group show titled “Material/Object”.   Gallery 414 is located in a house, in a residential area off of 7th.  Grab a bite at Freds, La Familia, Sardines, or Milanos before or after the show.  Gallery 414, 414 Templeton.

Saturday March 7
Artspace 111, Opening Reception 6PM – 9PM, Free
Rub elbows with arty folks and examine Urban Landscapes: Urban/Rural. This is a huge group show (24 artists) that features Betty Alcorn, Randy Bacon, Daniel Blagg, Dennis Blagg, Nancy Lamb and many others that I’m too lazy to type – so check their website.  The exhibition will be in place until April 18th.  After you’ve viewed the art don’t miss the chance to sip some chardonnay out on their back patio and stroll through the sculpture garden.  111 Hampton Street Fort Worth

Sunday March 8
Lola’s Stockyards, Pin Up Girl Class, 11AM $200 ($25 Deposit)
Want to release your inner burlesque bombshell.  Becoming Fort Worth’s answer to Dita Von Teese doesn’t come cheaply though at $200.  The Pin Up Girl class promises to teach you how to do vintage hair and make-up.  Posing and modeling tips are also taught along with a photo shoot.  A book and CD is also given with the class.  More information is also on their Myspace Page (myspace.com/pinupgirlclass).
