Ah August in Texas! It will still be hot all weekend but don’t let that stop you from enjoying all Fort Worth has to offer this weekend.

Friday August 7, 7pm
1st Friday on the Green Spoonfed Tribe with Shuttle
I can’t think of a better venue for the eclectic and energetic music of Spoonfed Tribe. Enjoy the musical jam journey by kicking back on a blanket or chair. The event is family friendly, so let the kiddos run wild at this outdoor event. Chadra Mezza will be selling some yummy Mediterranean eats including hummus and gyros. The show starts at 7PM. The price of admission is FWISD approved school supplies for the Southside Church of Christ assistance program. Magnolia Green Park is located on Lipscomb between Magnolia and Rosedale.
Saturday August 8
Cowtown Farmers Market 8AM – Noon
This is Fort Worth’s original producer only Farmers Market. Get there early for the best selection.
Saturday August 8
Central Market: Burgers and Bocks 7PM – 9:30PM
I’m still a big fan of Burgers and Bock. A bucket of beers will surely help you beat the heat. Central Market does not just grill up a run of the mill burger either. Their burgers are made of a half-pound of fresh Angus beef and lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a Central Market Pain au Lait Bun. Of course there are some creative variations of this available, try The Tex which has bacon, Cheddar Cheese and Chipotle barbeque sauce or The Heater with pepper jack cheese, pickled jalapenos and roasted poblano aoili. The Veggie burger with a balsamic Portobello mushroom with roasted red peppers, grilled eggplant, red onion and Central Market’s olive relish is quite delish.
Sunday August 9
Freds, Country Sunday
Wind down your weekend at Freds with some good ol’country music. They pretty much have music lined up all day with Kurt South at noon, Southbound Lane at 3PM, and Scott Copeland from 6PM – 9PM. While you’re there see why they beat out Kincaid’s in the DFW.com burger challenge, mmmm Diablo Burger.
