Cowtown Diner – Soft Opening

by Josie on January 11, 2010

360 West has all the Cowtown Diner scoop. Cowtown Diner is Fort Worth’s newest eatery opening in Downtown Fort Worth, where Le Madeleine used to be. In case you haven’t seen their Facebook Updates, looks like they are doing a soft opening until they open on January 16th. From 360 West:

Just learned Cowtown Diner is taking reservations for “friends and family” dining tonight and tomorrow, as well, as practice runs for the staff. Call, make reservations and all you need to do is tip the waiter. 817-332-9555

Brunched at a soft opening of Cowtown Diner (in the old La Madeleine) spot downtown. Duck breast with jalapeno-cornbread waffles topped with poached eggs and the short rib Benedict were hits (we’d change out that Texas toast, however). Opening Jan. 16, in time for early morning Stock Show parade-goers.

Cowtown Diner opened its doors last night for a sneak preview. The former downtown La Madeleine is now an upscale diner (lots of booths) with a nice little bar. Chef Scott Jones is putting his own spin on comfort food (the brunch menu looks amazing … smothered pork chops, anyone?) and the diner will be open very earl…

Some of our office staff ate at the soft opening on Monday..great place for lunch.. I had the tenderloin sandwich which was awesome.. The wait time for the food was a little long but the waitress Gina was incredible, I had service from her which equalled any high-class restaurant plus she had a great personality and had us laughing the whole meal.. Would highly recommend the restaurant and the server to my friends

Wonderful food atmosphere and service. The decor is beautiful, and the prices are very reasonable. This is definitely a spot to go back to. Thank you for the free brunch. I will return with friends and put the word out about your great menu.

It’s great to hear positive feedback about Cowtown Diner before they are even officially open! I can’t wait to check it out myself.

We were so very lucky to be invited to their VIP Preview last week and I have to say WOW! They spared no expense when it came to the interior of the diner, which includes a historic cowboy hat collection, wonderful private dining areas, and pony-hide lamp shades. The food was incredible, with new spins on familiar flavors. Don’t miss the opportunity to try a Jalapeno Margarita or a Sweet Tea Martini! Great work Mr. Jones! We think your new diner will be a home run!

Awesome place, the food and decor is incredible. My two friends and I ate there yesterday for lunch and considering it was opening day the service was great. Our server (forgot her name but she was tall with a British accent) was juggling several tables but we were still supplied with fresh drinks without having to ask, she kept checking to see if we needed anything and we werent kept waiting for our check. Great job on your restaurant Mr. Jones!

My family and I ate lunch there yesterday. It felt so cozy to walk through the doors out of the rain. I love the decor and the atmosphere. You can go in jeans or dressy attire and still feel comfortable. The waiter was very fun. Everyone smiles at you when they walk by. The food was wonderful. The portions look small, but the food is so hearty you will get full. Prices are very affordable as well. I regret that we didn’t sample the alcoholic drinks, but we will. We are planning a couples night out there in the near future.

What happened?? Have eaten there three times and each time the food and wait time gets longer and longer and now the only good server ( tall British girl) has left.. Definately would not return and would NEVER suggest the restaurant to anyone!!
