Today Ryan’s Fine Grocer and Delicatessen opens up on Magnolia street in Fort Worth’s near Southside area. Brother and sister Hunter and Brittany Ryan have long been inspired by childhood visits to Roy Pope grocery and now they are opening their version of the neighborhood grocery store.

You’ll find an impressive selection of curated gourmet items along with a few staples. Think of the grocery store as a scaled down version of Central Market complete with a wine and beer section, dry goods, dairy, a small produce section, and a meat and seafood counter. Hunter Ryan is even curing his own duck prosciutto and dry aging steaks which he says will be ready in a few weeks. Black Rooster Bakery supplies all of the bread products for the grocery store as well as the deli. Avoca coffee, another local product, is featured in the store.

The Deli section of the store promises an ambitious menu of salads, soups, and sandwiches. I sampled some of the sandwiches and they were excellent. Ryan’s Deli will also be offering Cheese and Charcuterie platters for sharing as well as a Seafood Parade platter. They will even have a Caviar platter. You can grab a choice seat near the huge storefront windows in the charming yet modern dining area of the deli. There are also two outdoor patios to enjoy.

The name of the store is an homage to Hunter and Brittany Ryan’s long family history in Fort Worth. The Ryan Place neighborhood is named for their family. They both had extensive careers in the food world and most recently both worked at Lightcatcher Winery. The Magnolia Avenue location was an easy choice for Hunter and Brittany Ryan because they are both Near Southside residents. The location adds a much needed grocery store to the neighborhood and an exciting concept the rest of Fort Worth can enjoy as well.

Whooee!! Exactly what Fairmount needed! SO glad you did this! Will be there soon. Could you please put your daily deli specials out on-line so I can salivate excessively for a while before leaving the house?
